National Walk Safely to School Day

Friday May 19 was a glorious morning in Albany and our school was thrilled to participate in the National Walk Safely to School Day. Parents and students met some of our staff members at two separate meeting points and they then made their way to school on foot. Our P&C cooked some delicious wholemeal fruit pancakes to help refuel our students. We hope this has helped some families to consider using active transport everyday of the week!

Sounds like the weather was on your side and delicious pancakes are a great reward for a healthy start to the day. It would be great to get an idea of how many students participated on the day. A simple hands up survey can achieve this or handing our stickers and keeping track of the number given out. Be good to hear of any plans for more regular events to encourage such an active start to the school day.
