Library Lounge - EBike Demo

The Staff at the Albany Library have been great supporters of the Cities TravelSmart Program and specifically the EBike Promotion so it was a natural progression to partner up to have EBike Demonstrations as part of their Summer Holiday Library Lounge Program in the Town Square

The first session yesterday afternoon was very successful (so much so we were too busy to take many photos) with over 25 people of diverse ages and backgrounds having a test ride (and a free coffee).

The most common questions were "why should I buy an Ebike?" which was easy to answer (see http://www.50cycles.com/blog/10-reasons-why-people-buy-an-electric-bike-in-the-new-year/), "are Ebikes available for children?" which we are now looking into with the local bike shops, and about the City's Salary Sacrifice program to allow staff to lease an Ebike.

The next EBike Demo afternoon is on Monday 8th January

This sounds like a great idea, Carl :). Were there many City employees in attendance too?

Justine - myself and one of the Library Staff who is also an expereinced cyclist and justloves the EBike were there. We also had pannier bags, baskets and the Library bike trailer to show the participants how they could easily carry their library books, shopping etc home by bike.
