E-bikes fleet has arrived!

We are excited to announce that two brand new electric bikes have arrived at the City of Swan! These Uni Ryder step-though e-bikes are powered by a 250 watt motor and 5 levels of pedal assist so they are perfect for anyone to ride, no matter your age or ability. The bikes are available to all staff in the Administration building and Operations Center for use during work hours. With one bike stationed at each location, there many ways to make the most of this mode of active transport. Our staff now have the option of riding to their meeting instead of taking a car, pedaling to Swan Active Midland for a workout or just takes one out for a spin during their lunch break on a sunny day. For convenience, each bike comes equipped with its own helmet, bell, lights, pannier bags and rear basket so any gear can be carried with ease. By promoting the e-bikes we are encouraging both environmental sustainability by reducing carbon emissions as well as an improvement in personal health and well-being. For these reasons, our aim is to encourage more people to adopt alternative modes of transport for their daily commute on a regular basis. As you can see, our Executive Manager for Community Well-being, Mark Bishop was keen to take one out for a test ride!

Hi Emma. That is excellent news! Perfect timing for a beautiful Swan Valley springtime too. Well done for fully equipping the bikes too - it can make a big difference. Your pool bike scheme has earned you 60 points, plus a bonus 10 points for making it such a great read.
