Vincent traditionally offered a range cycle events in March to coincide with Bike Week and take advantage of the cooling weather. Now that Bike Week has grown up into Bike Month and moved to November there was a gap in the Vincent Events calendar. It was decided to still run a range of events through March, as the weather cooled, to encourage residents to dust of their cycle and get back on their bike.

Free Bike Dr checkups were offered to commuters riding to work in the lead up to bike week. Hard working bike doctors traveled the City fixing small problems and diagnosing bigger ones to make sure that everyone's bikes were safe to ride. The City used BikeDr (https://www.bikedr.com.au/)

Four check ups were held over two weeks:
Thursday 5th March - Palmerston Street
Thursday 12th March - Axford Park
Thursday 19th March - Banks Reserve
Thursday 26th March - Bourke Street/PSP (CANCELLED)

These events were a great success with around 20 cyclists at each event, despite, or in spite of, the worsening coronavirus situation. Unfortunately this ultimately led to the final session being cancelled.

Crimestoppers and WA Police also attended each event to talk to participants about BikeLinc and hopefully convinced everyone to register.

Hi Sam. Good to see the continuing success of your Bike Dr pit stops. I'm glad you managed to get the majority of these in before the big shutdown. Good work to connecting in with the BikeLinc program. You have earned 50 points for this activity, plus 10 for sharing all the details.
