BikeDr have been touring Vincent again setting up their fantastic bike maintenance station at 4 locations across the City over the last 4 weeks. Over 50 cyclists stopped to have their bikes checked and minor repairs made. This varied from tweaks to brakes and gears to new chains.

Tuesday 1st October 7am - 9am Palmerston Street (Brisbane St end)

Tuesday 8th October 7am - 9am City of Vincent Library Loftus St

Tuesday 15th October 7am - 9am Banks Reserve Pavilion, off Joel Terrace

Tuesday 22nd October 7am - 9am Bourke Street, Principal Shared Path

Each location attracted a different number of cyclists but the most popular was of course Bourke Street thanks to it's proximity to the PSP. This year we added in a pop-up at the City of Vincent Library to encourage riders to use the new shared path on Loftus St.

BikeDr have a mobile repair station based out of an electric cargo bike and can be booked through: https://www.bikedr.com.au/. These sessions cost $250 an hour but if well located can engage a good number of cyclists!

James (Your Move)

Hi again Sam - I really like this initiatve and it is positive the 50 riders took advantage of it. Do you have any "lessons learned" for other LGAs thinking of doing the same? Any ideas for how to increase the numbers? I'm interested in how you catch the attention of the bike commuters rocketting along. You have earned 50 points for the activity, 10 points for the details and a bonus 5 for sharing the participation numbers.
