The DMIRS 2017 Step Challenge is underway today! Official opening ceremonies were held last week across three DMIRS locations, as pedometers were distributed along with a healthy morning tea (pics above)! DMIRS has officially broken last year's participation record, with 300 staff members signing up to take part in the 2017 Step Challenge. 60 teams will battle it out over the next six weeks as participants make their way around a virtual map of Tasmania. With prizes, bragging rights and individual challenges along the way, there's plenty to play for. Participants are provided with a pedometer to track their steps, which they are required to input daily. The target is 10,000 steps per day, but there's some likely types who will be pushing for much more than that. Stay tuned for more updates!

Thanks David, this is great! Super keen to see how this pans out over the next few months. Have you considered running a start of challenge travel survey, then another at the end of the challenge to see how it may have had a positive impact on people choosing active travel to work? If you have any questions, feel free to drop us s line.
