In Copenhagen over half the population use a bicycle every day. Many people ride to work or education. How can we make riding a bicycle a more common way of getting places in Perth? Join James Thoem, Project Manager with the Copenhagenize Design Company, an international practice supporting planning, infrastructure, and communications to promote everyday cycling.

This Your Move Forum is an opportunity to be inspired by Copenhagen and join with local Your Move champions to create ways to boost cycling for work and school trips.

James Thoem, will get us thinking about constructive bicycle communication strategies. The focus is on marketing bicycles as an everyday mode of transportation for the 99% rather than a subculture or recreational activity.

We will kick off with a presentation from James on the history of bicycle marketing campaigns from around the world, before addressing what makes an effective and constructive campaign. After presenting a series of best-practice examples from around the world, participants will formulate mock campaigns for their local communities in a break-out session.

We look forward to seeing you there.
