NAIDOC Family Day celebrates Aboriginal culture and art with live performances, hands-on fun for all ages, with a special focus on Nyoongar culture.

This year’s national NAIDOC Week Theme is Because of Her, We Can!

We will reflect this wonderful theme in this year’s event program; weaving in a celebration of Noongar culture and Aboriginal women

Highlights include a

  • Fashion parade featuring works by artist Peter Farmer
  • Ceremonial fire for women
  • WA Museum with their WA Faces project
  • Derbarl Yerrigan’s Moorditj Healthy Lifestyle Zone

These will be presented alongside a great stage program, activities, a youth zone, children’s activities and more.

Theever-popular Deadly Jobs Expo will return presenting a great range of organisations with employment opportunities.

Commence the Day with the ‘Dandjoo Koorliny’ Reconciliation Walk and Flag Raising Ceremony.

Meet outside Council Administration Centre (48 Old Perth Rd) at 10.00am; then join participants as they walk in unity to Ashfield Reserve for Flag Raising and Welcome to Country Ceremonies.

Parking is free - entry off Fisher Street.  Priority parking is available for vehicles displaying a current ACROD sticker.

This is an all ages, smoke, alcohol and pet free event.
