Commute stories a winner

Thanks to everyone who shared their commute stories on the Your Move website. It was great to see the mix of commuting experiences across Your Move workplaces. For many of us, the commute is (usually) a time to exercise, enjoy the world around us, read or reflect on life. Working from home is common at the moment, so a rather short commute.

So who won? The My Commute competition entries were assessed for creativity, narrative quality and how well the benefits of alternatives to driving were promoted. These stories pipped others, have a read/watch for yourself:

Covid commute by Gavin Giles, City of Fremantle – an engaging video format including a short bike ride in lycra, family cameos and the work team online.

Sunshine to my rainy day by Stacey Towne, Town of East Fremantle – a beautiful story well told, that highlights the social benefits of active commuting.

Recognising their efforts, the City of Fremantle and Town of East Fremantle are both awarded 700 points towards Your Move tools and services to support active transport promotion in their workplaces.

Please keep sharing your stories on the website – whether about your commute or workplace initiatives to help colleagues walk, ride a bike, use public transport, work from home or share a car.
