On 24 March 220 local Rockingham residents jumped on their bikes and took part in the annual Community Breakfast Ride for Bike Week. The event was enjoyed by all, with 3 cycle distances (5km, 11km and 19km), followed by a free breakfast, free bike maintenance checks and activities for the kids. Huge thank you to local bike shop KD Cycles for donating prizes plus a bike giveaway. The guys from Cycling Without Age also popped down to showcase their Trishaw and take some of the older residents for a ride.
City of Rockingham's stories
The Rockingham Autumn Centre hosted an E-Bike, Trike and Scooter Expo from 9am - 12pm this morning! The Centre Manager Brett McDonald said the main aim was to educate and engage the City's Seniors in active transport options so that they can alleviate the congestion that occurs in the over-used car park. Cycling Without Age also attended with their Trishaws providing many of the Club members with a relaxing 10 minute ride through HMAS Warramunga Park. The expo was open to the entire community, with many young parents and community members in attendance, learning and trialling everything from E-Bikes to self-folding scooters! Huge thanks to all the local and Perth-based providers that offered their time in making the event a success!
Celebrating the Award Winners this morning at the Your Move Awards was a great way to acknowledge all the fantastic work that has been achieved across WA in the past year! Congrats to the "BUS" table for their willingness to be creative, to Warnbro Primary School and Baldivis Secondary College for their Platinum Accreditation Status and to Baldivis Secondary College for their "Innovate Category" win for their Year 7 Transition Project. #YMawards2018
