Guest Presenter at Your Move Professional Learning - Take it to the next level

On Friday 12th April I attended Your Move's PL. Your Move Professional Learning - Take it to the next level as a guest presenter. I had never been a presenter before and on a panel and found the experience to be a great reflection on the work we do to promote Active Travel to school at Honeywood Primary.

This event was held on Teams and was very well organised by the Your Move team. I felt prepared and knew what would be happening. Thanks Emma and team! As a presenter I still learnt so much from the other 2 showcase schools and was busy writing down ideas and things to check on back at school.

I reflected on how the Active Travel message can also be spread across curriculum areas and was inspired by Coolbinia's Greenhouse Effect & the related CO2 experiment presentation, which will have me checking out the other lesson plans in the Your Move resources section and passing onto my colleagues.

Aspiri's presentation encouraged me to track our data to see the participation increase (hopefully) over time especially as our school gets larger. I will also spread the messages about the Your Move resources and also do an audit of SDERA use in the school and encourage teachers to keep the class stories coming in so I can share our success stories. Another light bulb moment was checking that students are wearing their helmets when riding to and from school and not just when we have Wheels Days at break time. How I do this I need to brainstorm ideas.

Overall, it was a great PL and enjoyed the experience.
