How reward points and accreditation works
The Your Move website is a unique 'gamified' platform to encourage walking, cycling or public transport use. Schools and workplaces who are part of Your Move earn points by writing stories, completing activities and doing surveys. Here's how it all works.
Reward points
By writing stories and completing activities to promote walking, scooting, riding a bike or catching public transport, you can earn points for your school or organisation. You get the same amount of redeemable and accreditation points for each story, activity or survey you complete.
You can use your reward points to order items from the great range of items in our online 'Rewards Shop'. Reward points earned in a calendar year will expire at the end of the following calendar year, but don't worry, we'll send you a reminder!
TIP - spending your reward points during the year does not affect your accreditation level!
Accreditation
Your accreditation level each year is connected to the number of reward points you've earned over a calendar year (1 January to 31 December). Earn enough points and you can reach bronze, silver, gold, platinum or even double platinum! (see the table below).
TIP - You can move through multiple levels of accreditation each year!
Schools that reach silver accreditation or above can unlock a 'Connecting Schools Grant' to improve their bike parking and infrastructure, bike and safety education and school facilities!
The points you earn towards accreditation levels are reduced to zero on 1 January each year. This is to ensure that everyone starts the year on an even basis and so you can strive to achieve a higher accreditation level every year.
Please note: We will celebrate your highest level of accreditation achieved at the end of each year by sending you out an accreditation badge!
Accreditation cheat sheet
Your Move journeys are all different, and depend on the resources available at the school as well as the particular interests and goals of that school community. Download our 'Accreditation cheat sheet' below for an example of a journey a school might take over a year to reach Silver, Gold, Platinum or Double Platinum accreditation.
