Hands Up Survey (2)

Yesterday our Your Move team went around the school and conducted our Hands Up Survey. Upon reflection of this survey, a lot of students come to school by car. Originally we thought the lower grades were coming by car as they we still so young and maybe their parents didn't trust them to walk by themselves just yet. As we looked at the older grades the same amount of students were still coming by car. We thought of many reasons why this could be (stranger danger, busy parents dropping their kids off on the way to work, living too far away). We thought about ways we could overcome this and one way we decided on was talking about stranger danger. We are also going to promote a greener, healthier way to travel by a design a poster competition which we will hold next term. We currently have Foot Print Friday in place and that has helped promote traveling to school in a greener healthier way.

Hi Brooke. It looks as though 2024 is going to be a good active travel year at Lakelands PS. Foot Print Friday is in place. That's great! You have earned 90 points for having this regular active travel day. You get 10 points for your reflections on the HUS.
