World Car Free Day is coming up on 22 September, and it’s a great chance for everyone to leave the car at home and try something different.
Whether you walk, ride, scoot, or take public transport, going car-free (even just for a day!) helps reduce traffic, cut emissions, and makes our streets safer and more enjoyable for everyone.
Here’s how you can get involved:
• Schools can host a Walk or Ride to School Day, create a ‘Park and Walk’ initiative or run a classroom challenge.
• Workplaces can encourage staff to walk, ride, catch public transport or carpool and maybe even throw in a free coffee or breakfast! ☕
• Families can plan a car-free school drop-off or walk to the local shops together.
It’s all about giving active and sustainable travel a go and showing that small changes can make a big difference for our health, environment and communities.
Mark your calendar for 22 September, and let’s celebrate World Car Free Day the Your Move way! 🚶♀️🚲🚌
