📈 Key highlights from 2024
- 9% overall increase in active travel across participating schools—our biggest jump yet!
- Since 2014, active travel has grown by an average of 6%—a steady climb toward healthier, more sustainable school journeys.
- Primary schools led the charge with a 12% boost in walking, riding and scooting.
- Car use at primary schools dropped by 6%—a win for traffic reduction and cleaner air!
- 59 schools saw a measurable increase in active travel.
- Schools that ran five or more active travel activities saw an impressive 11% increase, while those with fewer activities saw little to no change.
- Perth metro schools recorded a 10% increase, while regional schools saw a solid 4% rise.
