Take your class or school to the Constable Care Safety School in Maylands and build the capacity for your school community to participate in active travel in a fun and safe environment.
The Constable Care Safety School (CCSS) excursion is a popular item offered through the annual Connecting Schools Grants (CSG) program and in the Your Move Rewards Shop. The safety school is a unique center and the only one of its kind in WA that offers a fun, hands-on learning experience linked to the WA curriculum, where children explore real-life transport risks and practice road, pedestrian, bike and public transport safety skills in a safe, realistic urban environment.
The Safety School is a best-practice excursion destination for children aged 4-11 years and has a big focus on teaching kids the necessary skills and understanding of road safety to enable them to ride and walk to school with confidence.
Year Level: 2 to 7
Learning Outcomes
- The CCSS teaches safe travel for the trip to school, through developing vital skills to keep children aged 4 – 12 years safe on the roads.
- The Safety School allows kids to experience what it’s like to be out on Perth’s footpaths and roads.
