Created by, the Western Australian Local Government Association (WALGA), ‘Localeye’ is a free mobile app for use by WA residents and visitors alike that has been developed to assist the community in accessing public amenities, facilities and events in their local areas as well as report maintenance issues.

Developed on behalf of local councils in Western Australia, localeye is intended to enable residents and visitors to an area to readily locate local community infrastructure such as parks, recreation centres, barbeque facilities and swimming pools as well as discover public events such as festivals and concerts organised by the local authority.

The ‘News’ feature and ‘Report an issue’ feature are included to provide the community with direct interaction with the local council. All facilities and events featured on localeye are non-commercial, public initiatives.

Localeye has individuals icons to identify the various places to see and events to attend, making it easy for the user to find that they might want to do in their local area. With over 140 Councils represented across WA, the places to visit and see are extensive (see screenshot).

Whether planning a trip from Geraldton to Margaret River or wanting to find the perfect park in Joondalup for a picnic, Localeye guides users all the way. Localeye is available as a web based application (called ‘Know your Council’), and on both the App Store for iOS devices, and the Google Play store for Android devices.
