On 3 September 2019 9 local Rockingham schools came together to learn more about Your Move at the first ever Your Move Showcase. Local Your Move Schools Warnbro PS, St Bernadette’s Catholic College, Baldivis Secondary College and Charthouse PS formed a working group to bring together this event with the support of the Your Move Schools team.
Students participated in peer-led workshops led by the Your Move Student teams and teachers joined in a teachers and parents workshop led by Carol-Ann and David from the Department of Transport Your Move team.
Students learned about how to get started on their Your Move journey, how to plan an effective event and how to design an awesome logo for their school.
Students also participated in a fantastic presentation from Dr Jane Genovese-‘How to become an effective agent of change’.
The event resulted in 3 new Your Move Schools in Rockingham. The team are looking forward to building on this event in 2020 and getting more schools involved.

Hi Penny - yes, we had several extremely positive stories on the Rockingham Showcase from participating schools, so it is great now to hear your perspective. For your efforts of hosting this event you have received 50 points, plus a bonus of 10 points for your detailed reflection. We are really happy that the City of Rockingham sees the benefits that flow from being actively involved and we also look forward to seeing how it all grows in 2020.

What a great outcome - 3 new signed up schools! I think local government support has been so instrumental to building the schools program in Rockingham. Thanks for helping schools encourage more walking, cycling and public transport use.
