Metropolitan Access & Parking’s Travelsmart staff held a Travelsmart Display on Wednesday 24 November 2021 at Royal Perth Hospital, located in the city, which is well serviced by rail via McIver Train Station in close proximity and many bus services connecting to the city.

The display was primarily for staff, however located in a public area of the hospital, there were many visitors / patients that also attended to gather some information about alternative ways of getting to the site.

The Corporate Smartrider Card Program, which provides discounted public transport to staff was once again promoted and appointments were made for interested staff. There was also cycling information and maps indicating the locations of our two End of Trip Bicycle Facilities on site.

The lovely Louise from Transperth once again attended providing information on public transport, loads of timetables relevant to the area and carried out some journey planning for staff and the public.

There were loads of Live Lighter Healthy Recipes booklets and pamphlets to take, plus some drink bottles. All staff that attended the display were asked to complete a short survey indicating how they travelled to work and what department they were from. Those that signed up to join the Corporate Smartrider Program or those that registered to use the bike facilities, went into the draw to win some incentive prizes as part of the event, which included a $50 Rebel voucher along with some “Your Move” bags filled with goodies. Toni below presents a nurse with one of the prizes.

Another MAPD Travel Smart success story Lynette! What a stunning looking display you had too - your bike and bus Travel Smart banners go really well with the Transperth materials too! You have earned 55 points for your event (including having the personalised travel planning service and providing maps and other active travel materials), plus another 20 points for clearly outlining all that was involved. Hey, and welcome back for 2022 😊!
